To Kill a Mockingbird Analysis

Poem:

oh poor tom, what have the whites done to you
pushing all the blame of rape to you
you are accused, aren’t you
a innocent mockingbird they kill
whilst those hypocrites hold gatherings
why talk about poor africans like they do
when they are treating their brothers
at home so cruelly
and call them stool
oh poor tom, what have the whites done to you
to charge you guilty even
when all evidence favor you
even when atticus shut
everyone’s mouth up
what sin have you done
why is character measured not by
the depth of character but skin of color
sad it is, when you yield
the whites will climb over your top
and make life worse than death
for all of you

Hi Jonah, long time no posting of comments!!! As to your poem, I feel that it was relatively well-written and I feel that you could probably put it up for ACE??? It had a lot of layers of meaning under it. However, I feel that you can improve on it on a large scale when you write it more indirectly? Who knows, maybe Mr Siew would give you more marks?

Hi Jonah

Thanks for the nice poem.

The poem is good in the sense it invokes imagination within;
As I read on I can imagine the injustice and helpessness of the victim in the book.

I almost can compose a song out if this...congrats.
