"The Safest Flyer in the World"
The Safest Flyer in the world?
I have just have just read an article on the TODAY newspaper addressing the incident that happened on the 23rd of December, 4.50pm, and i am unhappy with the way the management of the 'singapore icon' responded and handled the issue.
When the Flyer was stalled for that day, 173 individuals were stucked in their capsule for 6hrs straight without any food and water. Help only arrived at 8 pm by the SCDF and they took more than 2 hrs to repair the system.
Surely they have to make some compensation or what, but the Flyer could not confirm any compensation for the 173 individuals stuck that day. Even when the 'victims' were trapped in the capsules, the management should at least try to comfort and assure the frightened civilians before any help arrived, but they didnt. Is this the type of service that the world's highest Flyer can provide?
Even when they are now building some kind of Primary Drive System, including two new back-up systems, there still be, no doubt, chances of history repeating itself. I have sat in that capsule, admiring the scenery once, that's my first time and perhaps my last time. What about the public? Can the 'victims' of the incident be "pacified", can the public be assured that it is still safe to go on that Flyer, do foreigners dare to come visit the 'world's highest flyer', and can Singapore's reputation be recovered easily?
I doubt so.
May the force be with u,
Jonah
